2016 Wedding Photography – My Annual Review
It is this time of year again when I post a review of my wedding photography season – and what an amazing year it was!
Winter weddings in Scotland
In the Winter Scotland was hit by a several storms but my couples embraced the weather perfectly. I photographed Louise & Ryan’s celebrations at the Killearn Village Hall. Rebecca & William’s alternative style wedding at the Royal Botanic Garden was a good one. Danielle & Steven stylish wedding at Carlowrie Castle was beautiful, this venue is outstanding and I hope I will visit again. Eden & Martin had small marriage event at Lothian Chambers in Edinburgh, it was very windy that day. I’ve also did a photoshoot in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, my favourite place on earth.

Spring
In the Spring I’ve discovered new venues I didn’t know before photographing some really great weddings. Like Lyndsey & Dechlan’s day at the Carberry Tower. Alexandra and Sean’s magical Glen Clova Hotel wedding, what a location. Helen and Stephen’s outdoor celebrations in Skelmorlie on the West Coast were super relaxed. Loraine & Forsyth’s micro wedding in Edinburgh took place at the Bonham Hotel. Rachel & Joe’s beautiful day at Hill of Tarvit in Fife. Amanda & Brendan’s destination vows renewal in Edinburgh. Sheelagh and Ramsay’s celebrations at Lower and Upper Halls in St Andrews and Frances & Alexander’s elegant Colstoun House wedding.

Summer
In the Summer I met many couples who planned their destination wedding in Scotland. Lizzie & Dan from Holland got married at Lothian Chambers with a reception at the Whisky Society and ceilidh at City Chambers. Maria & Mark came from Switzerland while their guests travelled from all over the world to attend a wedding at Kilconquhar Castle Estate. Cheryl & James travelled from England for their union at Lothian Chambers & Hotel du Vin. Lydia & Chris came all the way from Los Angeles for their bohemian wedding at Fernie Castle Hotel (featured on Rock My Wedding ).
Sophie & Brendan travelled from Australia to get married at Marlins Wynding. I also photographed Katie & Dave’s relaxed day at Aswanley in Aberdeenshire. Rachel & Geoff opted for Chinese wedding in the Royal Botanic Garden. Louise & Stuart’s wedding was a very stylish event at Solsgirth House. Jessica & James said I do at the Kirknewton Stables, their dogs were ring bearers. Holly & Dave had a secret elopement in Edinburgh with preparations at the Witchery. Sarah & Gordon chose a church ceremony with a reception at Oxenfoord Castle. Rachel & Fraser planned home wedding in the Scottish Borders and Laura & Andy had an outdoor wedding at the Byre at Inchyra.

Autumn
Autumn was amazing! I wish more couples were choosing this time of year to get married. Maria & Markus had destination wedding at the Old Course Hotel, St Andrews Wedding venues. Abigail & Ben’s day was a fun and relaxed event at a very local to me Secret Herb Garden. Alexandra & Ruaridh celebrated at Borthwick Castle. Morgan & Dylan’s traveled from the US to Isle of Skye. Careen & Sean had a relaxed day at Pratis Farm. Natalie & Ian’s ceremony too place at the Banchory Lodge Hotel.
Anna & Michael said I do at St Salvators Chapel – Anna’s dad was conducting the ceremony. Angela & David’s vintage style wedding took place at Askham Hall in the Lake District. Brooke & Chris had destination trip to Melville Castle. Katie & Tom dreamed of a beach ceremony, and it was possible in North Berwick with a reception at Aberlady Village Hall. Lastly, I met a lovely couple from Brazil, Marcelo & Ingrid, who traveled up north with me for a photoshoot in Glencoe.
