Road trip in the Scottish Highlands

Sheryl & James travelled all the way from Singapore to explore the Scottish Highlands and Isle of Skye and they booked engagement shoot in Glencoe with me. We met in Bridge of Orchy, just outside the hotel. From there we drove to Glencoe stopping at a few locations to take the photos – first at Loch Tulla viewpoint. It is a very popular stop and views over loch are just great! Then we drove to Glen Etive, quite famous location known from the James Bond movie Skyfall. And as the day was hot and sunny we decided to visit the Lochan, a little woodland just outside Glencoe Village. Finding some shade under trees was a good idea.

Engagement shoot in Glencoe – what to wear

The couple got engaged just the day before our photoshoot. It was my first Glencoe elopement style session in the Highlands but I’ve been to this area before. I didn’t expect such a warm day though. My recommendations is to wear a few layers of clothes so you can change quickly according to the weather. Long flowy dress or a skirt will look nice on a windy day. Tartan shawl or other cape will look good too. Waterproof boots are very important, as the ground can be muddy in some places, especially near the River Etive and Rannoch Moor. And it is a good idea to bring a different outfit you can use in for your engagement photos.
